CARE ITEMS PROVIDED
Donors helped orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda
as the COVID-19 virus spread and impacted their lives.
All donated items will be purchased in local, Ugandan markets and then delivered to each child by their Ugandan social worker.
FROM the TRUE AFRICA Team:
We hope that you and your families are doing well and staying healthy. This is a challenging time in the U.S. and across the world. We applaud the heroic efforts of the medical personnel, those people currently working in food and equipment supply chains, and all of those who are protecting others by sheltering in place and "staying home."
We appreciate your help in protecting yourselves and your families
and helping to prevent the spread of this deadly virus to your neighbors and community.
We are calling for immediate care items needs to help battle this virus
in the lives of TRUE Africa's sponsored students.
Whether you can donate items below, provide general donations, and/or share this page with your friends & family, please know that 95% of your support goes to our program services to provide education and humanitarian care for over 230 vulnerable children and youth.
UPDATE & CURRENT NEEDS:
As of March 16th, students in Uganda have returned home
as schools have closed. Re-opening date is currently unknown.
Thank you to our donors and sponsors who provided textbooks
so that now the students may continue to study from home.
Since many students have been boarding at their schools,
they and their families now need extra food upon their return home. Thanks to our many humanitarian sponsors, over 200 students are
currently receiving delivery of 55 lb. bags of posho at their homes.
However, at this critical time, the students still currently need:
* Dry beans for protein
* Soap for washing hands
* Medications to be available from the Kyambogo Clinic!!
We've set the donation amounts low so that more people can participate.
When you add an item below to your cart, please consider increasing the quantity as you can!!
Donations Received: $16,425 (122% !!!)

Thank you!! We have surpassed our goals!!
URGENT NEED: Medications for Kyambogo Clinic
Kyambogo Clinic serves TRUE Africa's sponsored students 'free of charge' thanks to generous donors who provide medications for the clinic each term.
With the COVID-19 virus, the clinic's medication supplies -- especially fever, cough, flu and pain medications --will be greatly depleted. Please help provide additional needed medications for the sponsored students and the other rural villages served by the Kyambogo Clinic.
GOAL: $4,000 - MET!

URGENT NEED: Dry Beans
Beans (similar to pinto beans) are very nutritious and add a wonderful amount of protein, fiber, and vitamins to a child's diet. Please help provide beans to the students during this time when food shortages are impacting their nutrition. A bag of 25 lbs of beans is $25. ($1/lb). Your $10 donations will help provide beans to needy children.
GOAL: $1,500 = 50 bags of beans (1,250 lbs.) = MET
URGENT NEED: Soap (5 bars)
To help prevent the COVID-19 virus and its spread, we must all wash our hands frequently with soap and water. These vulnerable students have access to water but need the soap to stay healthy!! The Kyambogo Clinic also needs soap to give to prevent sickness in the villages.
GOAL: $2,000 (10,000 Bars of Soap) = MET!
